The article is devoted to the assessment of prospects for the employment of the “funnel of causality” methodology for explaining the developments in world politics. Referring to the experience of the said methodology as having been applied in transitological studies, the author argues that it may also prove efficient in the study of international conflicts. Besides, the article contains reasoning as to the possibility of the “funnel of causality” principles being applied to the analysis of more general problems of evolution of the modern world.
