Abstract

The article’s motif is analysis of interaction of political and economic factors in the process of formation of world centres presenting “gateways into the global world”. Proceeding from the postulate that the key role in the course of the formation of the “global gateways” is played by social nets, in the first place by nets of trust, which under the influence of certain circumstances begin to draw up to a definite geographical point, the authors concentrated their attention on the research of the territorial dynamics of the nets of trust, as dependent on the type of political regime. The analysis they carried out, demonstrated that the generation of a “global gateway” comes as a result of the process of attraction/repulsion of nets of power and trade nets of trust. According to the authors’ conclusion, particular features of the attraction/repulsion of the nets of power and of the trade nets of trust can serve as the ground for drawing differences between “global gateways” as centres of transit trade and credit for the whole “world-economy”, and “quasi-gateways”, which appear as the kernel not so much of the “world-economy”, as of the “world-empire” being built up on administrative-political domination of the nets of power.
