Grinin L.Ye. National Sovereignty and Processes of Globalization (Introductory Notes) . – Polis. Political Studies. 2008. No. 1
The author focuses on the problems of erosion of national sovereignty in the epoch of globalization, transition of initiative in the world politics from national states to new supranational political units, and processes of emergence of new world order. The author analyzes bilateral character of the relevant transformations: the shrinking number and volume of sovereign powers of the states as well as their voluntary sanctioning of their limited sovereignty. In this context, the current growth of separatist and nationalist trends and prospects of formation of new institutional basis for supranational integration are considered.
