Abstract

In the article, an attempt has been made to reveal and describe, on the basis of statistical, sociological and electoral data, regional political cultures of Russia. The author stresses the necessity of increasing the number of criteria allowing to uncover differences between regions, by supplementing the indicators disclosing the local sociums’ orientations aimed at action and the objective indices of the level of socio-economic development, with qualitative characteristics that reflect the corresponding regions’ positions in the socio-cultural, historical, and geographical space of the country, and, besides, people’s convictions and attitudes.
