Kholodkovskii K.G. To the Question of the Political System of Modern Russia . – Polis. Political Studies. 2009. No. 2
The subject discussed in the article embraces the processes and preliminary results of those changes in the format of the power relations in Russia, that were conditioned by the outcome of the political season of 2007 to 2008. The author judges of the Russian power system as of not so much an institutionalist, but rather a personalist one by its character. Further evolution of this political system, in the author’s opinion, will be determined not so much by the character of the relations inside the power tandem formed as a result of the 2008 presidential elections, as by development of the general socioeconomic and international situation, as well as by the inevitably coming process of revision of the Constitution, which has been commenced by the prolongation of the terms of authority of President and of State Duma.
