Zevina O.G., Makarenko B.I. Some peculiarities of political culture of modern Russia . – Polis. Political Studies. 2010. No. 3
The authors present in their article the main findings of a sociological research project on Russian political culture. Proceeding from the assumption that stable voters of certain political parties have distinct motivations of political behavior, they describe the electorates as “subcultures” and identify and analyze beliefs common to all or most political trends (“party Russia”) and, apart from that, beliefs unique to each of the subcultures. They, further, analyze each subculture in terms of G.Almond’s and S.Verba’s “subject culture” and “participant culture” and, finally, discuss the transitory character of contemporary Russian society’s system of values.
