An important aspect of the political and psychological evolution of Russian society is analyzed in the article: the national and the state self-identifications of the young generation in modern Russia. The authors, in particular, emphasize that the contemporary specificity of the national-state identity of the Russian youth correlates both with the effects of the “identity crisis” of the 1990s and with the weakness of the value, cognitive and symbolic bases of the civil self-consciousness of Russian citizens.
