The article analyzes the main vectors of transformation of contemporary Christianity and development of the phenomenon of the «New Christianity» or Christianity of the global South. On the basis of the analysis of qualitative characteristics of the «New Christianity», author argues that it is not just a transplanted version of the familiar religion of the old Christian West into the South cultural environment, it represents a really new phenomenon, claiming to be a movement, offering one of the alternative models of the Western tradition.
