Rozov N.S. Randall Collins’ theories of historical dynamics and context of russian politics . – Polis. Political Studies. 2012. No. 6
R.Collins’ theories of historical dynamics as presented in his work: R.Collins. Macrohistory: Essays in Sociology of the Long Run. Stanford Univ. Press, 1999, - are being interpreted and verified (by the author of this article) as applied to problems of comprehending long-term social and political changes, as well as actual politics in Russia. Thus, the synthetic theory of revolutions, based on the concepts by B. Moore, Th. Skocpol, J. Goldstone, and R. Wuthnow, is substantially discussed in the article in connection with the author’s deliberations about possible prospects of 2011 to 2012 protests in Russia.
