Abstract

The authors analyze results of the 2010 census and estimate the character of its results by the ethnic entrepreneurs in the national republics of Russia. As is demonstrated in the article, the changes taking place in the character of ethnic identification are preconditioned by intensification of the integration process in Russian society, and it is not in the logic of the assimilator’s paradigm that the said changes should be interpreted, but in the sense of realizing personality’s right to cultural freedom.

Keywords
ethnicity; demographic processes; census; Urals peoples.
