The review analyzes the textbook and the reader on political psychology issued by the Department of Sociology and Psychology of Politics of the Faculty of Political Science, Lomonosov Moscow State University. These books discuss questions of theory and methodology of world political psychology and applied research. The important feature of these books is the high standard they set for the profession of political psychologist. The reader presents outstanding works of foreign and Russian authors, both classics and modern psychologists. They show how the solutions were discovered for problems posed in the XIX century and even in the beginning of the XX century. Many of the works included in the reader and many chapters of the textbook provide an important feedback for the authorities, helping them to understand the psychological specifics of their country. Applied works presented in the reader help political leaders in solving their everyday problems, for example, strengthening their potential in political communication. An important result of forty years of development of Russian political psychology is the creation of an arsenal of research methods, the development of many original domestic technologies. Both books show that Russian political psychology confidently occupies a leading position in the world science, standing on the same level as American and European political psychology.
