The subject considered is the role of comparative method in political studies. Comparative analysis, in the author's opinion, is apt to effectuate a multitude of functions: it allows riddance of research from excessive influence of the subjective factor; it may help conceptualize empirical knowledge and overpass national and chronological frames. The author also raises the question of permissibility of regarding comparative method as a way of finding a procedure to be applied as substitution for experiment, impossible in social sciences.
