Gadzhiev K.S. Towards a Polycentric World Order . – Polis. Political Studies. 2007. No. 4. https://doi.org/10.17976/jpps/2007.04.02
The author poses the problem of determining anew the outlines and parameters of the new world order in connection with the nowadays evident loss of topicality by the earlier prevalent ideas of a monocentric world. Applying the methodology of systemic approach, the author regards the world community as a self-organizing super-system consisting of a multitude of interconnected, interdependent, cooperating and at the same time competing and conflicting subsystems (national states, various international intergovernmental and non-governmental organizations, multinational corporations etc.). Analyzing different factors of maintenance of the arising polycentric world order, the author poses the question of the content and of the conditions of genesis of the principles and institutions which might become a stable basis of this new world order.
