Abstract

The author of the critical review shares with the reader his judgments and impressions of Anatoly Utkin’s monograph. The analysis in it is based on the psychological complex of a Western man - the “Faustian complex” that induced and allowed society to successfully transform itself. The book impels one to turn attention to the fate of Russia, which shines with especial light against the background of what the author refers to as rise and fall of the West.
