In the new rubric of the journal, a world-famed Russian film producer imparts his considerations of ways and possibilities of cultural changes in Russia. It is problems of transformation of national mentality, of stability of the Russians’ “ethnic code”, of promotion of the value of personal responsibility in society that are the subject of the author’s analysis. It is on this way that the author reckons as really possible awakening in it of a striving for civil society and in the long run for democracy.
