Abstract

The author concentrates her attention mainly on the changes taking place in recent decades in the West European states’ policies as regards the problems of family. The author’s conclusion could be formulated as follows: West Europe is carrying out transition from the policy of supporting only the most vulnerable categories of family to working out and realizing a broad “family” or “family-encouraging” policy.
