Abstract
A young scholar from the Nizhniy Novgorod University analyzes and gives original interpretation to substantial intersection of some basic ideas of Max Weber and of the latter’s Russian contemporary, L.A.Tikhomirov. Moreover, the author demonstrates the logical necessity of such intersection of ideas, since both thinkers, aware of the «true monadic nature of power», thoroughly substantiate the far reaching conclusions they make from the main contradiction of the legal, i.e. democratic type of rule (those who obey are the people itself, i.e. the supreme power).
