The author seeks to come to comprehend a fundamentally new phenomenon, namely the antiglobalist movement (which he proposes to style "alterglobalist"). Its empirical features are systematized in the article, its objective preconditions, genesis, internal and external contradictions brought forth. Its positive program, finally, is expounded; currently, in A.V. Buzgalin's opinion, alterglobalism already proves one of the most significant examples of opposition to global hegemony of capitalism, examples of citizens' social creativity.
