Abstract

It is modern concepts of human rights that are researched in the article from the standpoint of the classical opposition of state/person. On the basis of detailed analysis of statist, internationalist, and cosmopolitan models of human rights and of the practices of their application, the author comes to the conclusion that under the modern conditions, this opposition is transformed into a more complex structure distinctly manifesting itself in the context of international relations. Today, two oppositions are mutually opposed: state vs. person and state vs. supra-state structures, and in neither of the two cases human rights as such are regarded as substantial factor of solving world politics problems.
