Abstract

The subject discussed in the article envelops particularities of the formation of the conceptual complex designated by the term “revolution”, specificity of its being present within different discourses (political one, academic one, and everyday one). As distinct from most of the terms which emerged out of metaphors, but subsequently lost their metaphorical quality, the term “revolution”, in the course of its “roving” between different types of discourse, has retained that quality throughout all history of its own existence. The article offers analysis of alteration of the sense of an event with its designation by the term-metaphor “revolution”.
