It is the role of conflictological analysis in the research of regional security that is considered in this article. The author points out that the many-sided analysis of a regional conflict can be the most adequate if the investigation process is based on the principle of methodological pluralism which manifests itself in the presence of various scientific trends. The most objective study of regional security is possible on the basis of polyparadigmatic sociological analysis of the sum total of the social fields forming an arena for conflicting interaction of political actors.
