The work published here is a critical review of “Models of Federative Arrangement: Regularities of Political Transformation” – a book by N.Pankevich, As is demonstrated in the review, the phenomenon of federalism is considered in the book first of all as a certain technology of distributing resources between elites. An original typology of models of federalism is proposed, the reviewer stresses.
