Abstract

The concern of the article is to study transformations of the political regimes in the post-Soviet area. Methodologically, the work is based on the principles of neoinstitutionalism and of the public choice theory. With the intention of explaining the character of the transformations, the author has designed an analytical model of political corruption, covering the various practices of abusing public authority, which affect the structure and dynamics of the political process.
