The article conveys evolution in interpretation of the notion “strategic culture” as well as key features of its content. “Strategic culture” is analysed both as context and as special type of epistemology. The context of “strategic” culture is based on accomplishments of historical sociology, perceptions of national character of national identity and “path dependence” of certain country. Its connection with political culture and especially with symbolic forms influenced by constructivism is interpreted from epistemological point of view.
